2008 Chevrolet Malibu 2LT mirror fuse keeps blowing

Driver's mirror broke off by person (not car)who ran into car. Replaced at home with mirror 62740G off Amazon. Now the mirror fuse keeps blowing (even after new fuse) when anyone tries to use the power mirror buttons. Nothing else happens except a blown fuse.

Remove the door panel and isconnect the mirror and see if the fuse still blows, if it does the wiring is at fault to the mirror, if no fuse issue the mirror motor is shorted.

if you replaced fuel pump i would look at backward wiring when replaced and i would start at the source of work if your vehicle was working fine before replacement then 9 out of 10 it will be your fuel pump wireing

sometimes when putting wireing back together the connectors have the missing clip and in turn you can turn the wireing in both directions now where positive is touching the ground on both sides of connector kris kross problem check your work this is crucial use a test light to find the right wires where they go

SOURCE: fuse keeps blowing out.

I had the same problem with my 2000 Windstar. It ended up being a brake fluid leak around a sensor on the master cylinder. The sensor is a known issue and has been redesigned. The brake fluid dripped onto some elctrical connections causing fuses to blow. The sensor turns off the cruise control when the brakes are pressed. On some vehicles it was known to cause fires and Ford had to provide a recall. At the time my Windstar was not covered in the recall but it may be now.

You replaced the head gasket but did you get the head or heads checked for cracks or check the block for warpage?

SOURCE: jeep keeps blowing auto shutdown fuse

Yes I had the same problem. The wires that plug into the sensor at the catatytic converter were rubbing against the drive shaft untill they finally wore through causing the short against drive shaft. repaired wires and it fixed everything

SOURCE: 98 stratus won't start

Sis had a 1997 Dodge Stratus and experienced issues with the cigarette lighter. Car would not start and I was able to trace an ignition fuse as the problem. Replaced the fuse and the car would attempt to crank but not start and the fuse would burn. Repaired the cigarette lighter and changed the ignition fuse but fuse continued to burnout. Pulled the accessory fuse and car attempted to start without the ignition fuse blowing. Put the accessory fuse back in place and the car started up no problem,

Interesting diagnostics on the second video., probably not relevant to your issue, but then again, a quick douse in cold water could crack that bus wire if it was hot. It also shows how good auto electricians are.

2008 malibu amp fuse blowing

Use amp meter and determine power draw against fuse size. Something is shorting - but if you can determine how much power is trying to go through you can devise a fix.

Find fuse box for 2008 chevy malibu

Like most newer cars, your Malibu has two fuse boxes. One is under the hood, just outboard from the battery. [really lousy place to put electrical stuff, right next to a container full of acid. Be sure to keep the outside of your battery clean, or you will be buying a new fuse box/wiring harness in the future] The second fuse box is located in the trunk, just above the driver's side wheel well [left rear wheel well]

2001 chevy malibu fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

Usually a sign of a faulty pump, or a problem in the wiring between the relay and the gas tank.
You could unplug the harness at the tank to verify.

Both elec door mirrors stopped responding same tme, why?

First, make sure you do not have the mirror control switch in the "neutral" position. If it is, neither mirror will work. If the switch is in the correct position to operate each mirror and neither of them work, the next thing I would check would be the MIRRORS fuse (2 Amp) located in the Body Control Module Fuse Block under the right side of the dash near the blower motor. If the fuse is blown, you probably have one of your mirror circuits shorting to ground. In this case, I would replace the fuse and see if it blows again when I operate each mirror. If one side works and the fuse blows when trying to operate the other side, then you at least know which mirror circuit is shorted and you can diagnose accordingly. If the fuse blows immediately (without operating the switch), or if the fuse is not blown, then you most likely have a defective mirror control switch or a broken wire in the umbilical that goes between the body and the driver's door.

Fuse keeps blowing

If fuse keeps blowing that means that there is a shortage on AC wiring or switch controlling the air conditioner.

Also an abnormal power draw from AC caused by an internal fault on AC can cause the fuse to blow.
Test wiring and switch with a voltmeter, the most common is that there is a short to ground between wiring and car body somewere.
