I had the oil valve replaced 2 months ago and twice now, about every 4 weeks, my check engine oil level light comes on. It has never come on before, could this be due to my mechanic not replacing the valve correctly? I don't see oil puddling under the car but there must be a small leak somewhere because it gets low about a quart. I'm going to add a quart myself in the meantime, what oil type should I use?

On the driver side of the transmission pan there is a fill plug. The car must be in the air and level. With the car running fluid will run out of the plug hole when it is full. This is no fun without a lift.

Look for Castrol TWS 10W60 Motor Oil. This car should not burn so much oil, you need to use a different kind. It is recommended by BMW as well. I also heard the VANOS isnt an issue anymore, can be fixed with a different MAFF. Good luck!

Hi, your fuel pump is located in the trunk underneath an access cover on the passenger side. remove the screws on the cover and you will see the in tank pump and sending unit. when replacing your pump, make sure to note the position of the 2 fuel hoses so you don't accidentally cross them when putting in the new pump.

sounds like a leaky oil presure switch. they will leak oil out of the wires comming out of them sometimes saturating the connector of the switch. If that isnt the problem then your oil pump is weak causing the lite to come on or your leak is so bad your oil level is so low the lite is coming on

Take it back to the place that worked on it. there is no other way. they could be liable for any damage done to your car. After all it is YOUR car That sounds like to much oil.
Good luck
