I brought a used 2006 Ford Explorer 43,000 miles and when I test drove it, I saw the yellow, " TIRE SENSOR FAULTY" light come on. The dealer assured me that after I put air in the tires the light would go out after driving a few miles. Never happened. Does anyone know what this means and how to correct it?
The tire pressure is looked at what by is called the tps, tire pressure sensor, go to a tire dealer or go back to the dealer you bought the car from and have him re-set the tps system, this is done by using a special tool, most bigger tire stores will have this tool it works with a frequency that is in the valves of the tires.
First check how much air should be in the tire there should be a yellow sticker on the door jamb and most likely say 35 psi. Use a digital tire gauge it is more acurate adjust pressure and drive if light stays on then bring to a tire shop that has a TPMS tool or scan tool to find out the problem.
Yes you need to reset it with a tpm scanner available only at dealer

tire sensor won't go off, even after you reset it on the dash board
