SOURCE: how do you know if your fuel pump is working

Petrol? put a pressure gauge on the outlet and spin the motor over, I guess it should be 4-5psi. The ethanol in fuel has a habit of eating the internals of fuel pumps

SOURCE: starting problem think it is

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Listen to hear if you can hear the fuel pump kicking on when you first turn the key. You should hear a humming sound for a second or two. If you do, it is working, If not, it is not working. If so, check your fuel pump fuse, relay, and shut off button if you have one. It could also be bad fuel injectors. You can pour fuel into the intake, if it starts, you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't, it shouldn't be fuel related then. If these all check out, if you don't have inside power, it is a connection problem with the battery or a bad battery. If you have power and there is a clicking sound, clean the battery terminals and post, check the connection. Make sure the battery is good. If you turn the key and there is nothing, you have a bad starter or starter solenoid. Check your ignition fuse also. If the starter is not getting the correct amount of power from the battery, it won't start. Make sure the alternator isn't draining the battery as well.

I dont no how to find where the fuel pump fuse is in my 2002 Mitsubishi triton. My car wont start and ive been stuck for a week going over my car

For other Mitsu's, and probably the Triton too, the ECU controls a relay that switches power to fuel pump. The action is also tied in with the IGN switch ie power to the ECU, which drives the relay. I suggest you locate the ECU box, and look for a large relay box near by. What often happens with older vehicles is the relay stops switching, sometimes because of an internal failure. If you find the relay box, you should be able to feel the relay click when the IGN Switch is turned. If the ECU is OK, all the relevent dash lights should turn on.

Any one know 4by4 Mitsubishi triton no codes cranks need help urgent

the tachometer ( rev counter) get its impulses from the ignition system or in the case of a diesel from the crankshaft position sensor
if it runs with introduced fuel ( dangerous for a diesel) but then dies, that indicates insufficient fuel pressure to the injectors
could be a diesel pressure pump ( test to 25,000 psi) not producing sufficient pressure to work injectors
problem fuel supply to pump, tank venting, filters , air in system etc

Were do i locate the Fuel Pump relay on a 2001 F250 Ford

Fuel pump relay should be located under hood in fuse box and fuse box should have relay marked out as fuel pump. Another way in owners manual there should be diagram of fuse and relay boxes and locations.

Spark plug gap for 1997 mitsubishi trition 2.4 petrol ute

Spark plug gap does not effect the engine timing so it's not that critical. Thirty 5 (.035) should work just fine.
Otherwise consult a service manual fro your model or call a Mitsubishi service centre
