Dodge Nitro Problem i have a 2009 2.8l dodge nitro, the oil lamp comes on at idle, after oil and filter change, goes off when rev's above 800 rpm, have changed the sensor, still happens, any idea's of

The sensor was modified as per dodge instructions to no avail so the sensor has been replaced still the oil light comes on at rev's below 750 rpm, and will instantly go off when the rev's are picked up, there is no smoke, over heating, or smell's

Directions are in the book, but you would put the key in and turn it all the way, just don't start engine. Pump gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times slowly, but it has to be with 10 seconds. Turn key off and when you start again, oil changed chime and warning should not be on. If it is, try again.

My 2007 dodge nitro is revving high rpm befor it shifts into gear what isy proplem ?

May be oil and filter require change in the gearbox (Cheap option and most common). when was it last done if ever? the oil is normal due around 60,000-100,000 depending on the manufacture (check your owners manual) or its the start of an electrical problem

You can access the oil filter easily from underneath next to the front, driver-side wheel at the front of the engine. There is clear access to the filter there.

Steps on how to change oil filter on 2008 Dodge Nitro

unscrew the old filter, lube the rubber O ring seal of the new one with engine oil and install, tighten 3/4 of a turn from when it contacts sealing surface of engine.
