I swaped transmissions on a 97 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9. hooked everything back up the way it was before and now when i go to start it all it does is turns over, no spark or fuel. what could be stopping the spark and fuel injectors?
The crankshaft position sensor may have been damaged during the tranny swap. It is on the top right side of the block at the rear of the engine.
Two things. I have a 1997 Doge Ram 4x4 SLT Laramie Short Bed. The tranny tends to **** in to higher gears at times, and also somtimes has a hard time hitting 4th. Another thing. All the lights in my truck work, but the rear license plate lights and now my illum dash lights. I checked the fuses, and even replaced them but that doesn't fix either problem. Any suggestions?
Did you let the engine come all the way back to hit firewall in changing? If so you may have damaged distributer. Also check under dist cap too see if its turning when you try too crank, and too mk sure it doesnt pull coil wire off..If that doesnt work try sparying gas into the Throttle Body too see if it cranks or act likes it wants too.If none of that works then you can take it too a certified repair shop. Ohh yea Mk sure all the wires on the trans are hook up and conected tight and firm with no grease or fluid.
