My 2004 acura tsx (114k miles) goes through about a quart of oil every 2000 miles. No puddle in garage -- I think it may be happening at highway speeds. My dealer has investigated for months, and changed the head gasket but no luck. Now, he says that according to Acura, it is acceptable for a car to go through a quart of oil every 1000 miles. This started happening when the car was around 70k miles. Any thoughts?
After checking out alot of Honda/Acura forums I'm finding that many owners experience the same problem you are having. The best explanation I found was at 2carpros:

From what I'm reading, only way to stop the oil loss is a new engine. If your car is running fine, I'd hesitate to change anything with the engine and stock up on oil.
U DON'T NEED A NEW ENGINE.IT IS TRUE THET 1 QT EVERY 1000 MIN=LES IS ACCEPTABLE.VALVE GUIDE SEALS,OIL RINGS,CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD OR PISTON WALL.ALL COULD BE CONTRIBUTING TO OIL USAGE.LOOKING AT THE SPARK PLUGS TO SEE HOW THE OIL IS BEING BURNED CAN TELL ALOT.U MAY ALSO NEED TO GO TO A HEAVY WEIGHT OF OIL.

Thank you everyone for the quick responses!
You stated you had a "head gasket" replaced, but did the place performing the work replace the "valve stem seals"?
you need a new engine
