97 Chevy truck blinkers not working but hazards do

I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer. My blinkers just stopped working the other day. When I turn on my blinkers nothing shows up on the dash and the blinkers themselves do not work. But when I press my hazards, it shows up on the dash and the lights on the outside work. My fuses aren't burnt out in the fuse box either. What do I do??? I need to get it inspected soon. I am afraid that if I take it in to get looked at that I am going to get screwed over!!!

Molson- Is this something I can do myself? How do I get to it???? And about how much does it cost for a new flasher???

Try replacing the Flasher first before spending to much money for a possible simple fix. If it's not your flasher then it could be the turn signal leaver.
Ok, this may seem stupid, but that's what they did to the blazer. They set the flasher near the middle and under the center console behind the radio.

It's to the left of the radio right behind the dash. The hazard flasher and the turn signal flasher are side by side.  It right next to the Cig lighter behind the panel. They do mark the turn signal from the hazard flasher on the plastic behind them. Turn is on the right.

Good luck and hope this helps.

Flashers are  behind the panel to the left of the cigarette lighter as i mentioned . You need a Torx 25 screwdriver and another screwdriver for those hex shaped screws, forgot the size.

First unscrew the 2 Torx 25 screws beneath the steering wheel. Then unscrew the rest of those Hex screws on the bottom. The panels overlap, so be prepared for a lot of unscrewing. You do need to unscrew the middle black panel on the bottom, right beneath the cig lighter.

It's held by two Hex shaped screws, one on each side and are hard to unscrew. Also you need to remove your spare change sliding tray to unscrew the last hex looking screw.

Once you pop your panel off, the turn signal flasher is the right one. The Hazard flasher is the left one. You can find a replacement part at Auto zone, and DON'T get the $184 Flasher switch, all you need is the signal flasher. It's shaped like a cylinder with TWO prongs on it.

The Flashers should be under $10.00. Good luck and hope this helps.

It sounds like your hazzard switch is bad, very common problem with these. It is part of the multi-function switch. New gm pt#26100985 about $480. Check after market also! Good Luck!

Blinkers not working 97 gmc jimmy

You may need a voltmeter to check if power is going into the turn signal switch. Start at the turn signal fuse and see if power there, with key on.

Where is the flasher relay located on my 97 continental? I have looked under the dash and no luck. The auto parts store does not even list a part number for a 97. At first the rt blinker stopped working...

The Lincoln Continental flasher is integrated into the "Multifunction light control module" part # 13c788. Cost junk yard around $50. There is no stand alone flasher relay as in the older or more senseably engineered and cheaper cars.

Hope helps.

My blinkers have stopped working and my break lights dont work except for the light over the top of the back end. it works when i press the brake. my regular lights work and my high beams work also.

Fix. Turn signals and hazard are on one switch on the dash. Problem is cold solder joints on small board on the switch. First fix I re soldered loose connection on board, worked for a while. Finally simply changed switch with a new one. Take off dash. About 5 screws, pop out hazard switch replace. Problem solved.

Blinkers just stopped working changed fuses didnt work

Do the hazards work? Is it all the blinkers? If so try the flasher fuse otherwise make sure the hazard switch isn't half pressed down. Some cars you can hit the hazard switch just a little so hazards won't come on but neither will the blinkers. If it's just 1 blinker change the bulb
