Hello, you have a 300 se with 103 engine (straight 6 cylinder) we have two possible cause of the problem, fuel and ignition side,on workshop they have a fuel gauge to check the fuel pressure (filter, fuel pump, fuel pimp relay) on fuel side, then for ignition spare plug, distributor cap, rotor, switching unit (transistor box for ignition side,ok, when your engine stop, try to hear from the rear,if your fuel pump motor is working,or you can remove your spare plug to determine what is missing fuel or ignition,ty

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

Car will stall after running about 15 minutes no electrical sparks from plugs

Without further information this is going to have to be a educated guess based on a lot of experience, but my prime suspect would be the ignition coil. In use they do heat up and when they overheat the internal insulation breaks down and no high tension current is produced to generate sparks. Typically the engine starts to misfire and it rapidly gets worse until the engine stops.

If the car starts again after about half an hour to an hour (or you can considerably speed up the cooling of the coil by running water over it for a few minutes) then it makes the diagnosis near certain.

Most modern coils are filled with dry resin instead of transformer oil and are far longer lasting and more resistant to overheating.

2000 s10 Blazer dies very 3-6 weeks for no reason

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick

The inside of the ignition dealer (Delco) must be thoroughly cleaned and all metal parts passed with fine metal wool. Sparkplugs must also be cleaned or renewed. The air inlet-valve is very sensitive. The cylinder and the disc must be carefully cleaned with light metal wool and contact cleaner. The fault is due to the disc remaining stuck in the cylinder, so no idle function and malfunction of the auto-choke system. If this solution does not work, then the vacuum pressure is defective.Hint from a German Mercedes specialist.
