The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

2004 dodge stratus se replaced ignition because key wouldn't come out now it wont start or turn over but lights up

My first thought is your security system, on the dash is there a security lamp that is on or flashing when you try to start? Did old key have a transponder in it, does new key?
My info says after 6 consecutive invalid key attempts, the starter motor system will be disabled. The system goes into lockout. You may be able to over-ride lockout, by leaving the key in the on position for 2.5 hrs, If you try that hook up a battery charger, then proceed with starting or programming. As far as programming key, the 1st procedure is to use oem scanner that can communicate with security system. I don't have oem scanner.
Check applicable trouble codes, see if anything relating to security system? If so, I doubt I can help you?

Whr is my fuel pump reset button on my 2003 grand am? Its security lock, it wont get any fuel. It cranks but wont start. Not getting any fuel. First time ever happening

There is no reset button.
The problem could be the anti-theft system which would knock out the injectors and spark to the plugs.
If the security light is staying on, the problem could be the chip in the key.

How do you disarm infiniti i 30 security system

Please check that the key is paired with the vehicle's security system. If you have a spare key, then please try that too.
Is there a flashing key symbol warning light on the dash when attempting to start? This could mean that there is a pairing issue, and that the security system needs reprograming.

What does it mean when the security lights wont shut off?

Hello
I want you to take the door key and lock and unlock the passenger front door with the key, if the light cancels you have a defective driver door latch switch, this switch detects the key has been used and turns off the security system, if the switch is defective the security system See's it as a break in and the light stays on and disables the car, there are other things that can also keep the light on and not disable the car, the system can be tested for fault codes by a Jeep dealer to determine other causes of malfunction.

Security system wont let car start

It sounds like the security system has been activated so you need to roll down the drivers side window and close the door. Reach in and turn on the key to the Run position and leave in on for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes is up, turn off the key and then try to start the car. The car should start. If it doesn't start do the process over again. This usually fixes the problem. There is no way to turn off the security system unless you have a key fob. If you have the key fob, just unlock the car and that will disable the security system. I hope this has been helpful.
