My car starts fine. When I put my key in the door and turn right twice, Normally all the locks wuld open Now Dead Nothing Can Anyone Help With a Solution. Working Mom
it was my Key that wasn't working. I got it fixed! We checked the key itself and how the new battery for the key itself was installed. Seems it wasn't tight enuf. Also my daughter's boyfriend came by and Reset the Car Battery in the trunk all of a sudden my key worked. Still my biggest Issue is the Lifter's click clack and from browsing this site I See its a common problem on this Model and the cost is 1400-1600 dollars. Is there anything you can do do help aleviate the sound or will I have to just Spend the $

Were you just replacing the battery or was the battery dead and you were not using the remote for a short time?? Were you just replacing the battery or was the battery dead and you were not using the remote for a short time??

Hook your battery up, then use your remote to lock then unlock the doors a few times. Sensors in the door lock should reset the alarm. If you dont have a remote , use your key. Do both doors as sometimes one wont do it. Mike
try this, reconnect the new battery and then lock/hold the key over for 30 secs, then unlock/hold the key over for 30 secs, the windows will go down if its trying to reset.then lock/hold over the key again, then press/hold the unlock button on the remote, this will fully reset the cental locking/alarm/immobiliser system.
I would contact a Chrysler dealer and speak to a tech, they will answer for free. They would know best what may be going on.Sounds kind of like it needs a reset. That's all I got. When in doubt, contact a dealer. If they want money, call around is some basic advice I use for not too many problems but this one qualifies.Good luck! Greg
The keys have security codes in them. If the key does not match the one the vehicle is looking for it won't start. You need to take the key and vehicle to a dealer to be reprogramed. Or if you just bought a key and have the old one, take the two keys to a dealer so the old key code can be copied to the new one.
sounds like lock button on key fob is stuck or there maybe radio interference around vehicle making it do that? did it just start doing it? if so maybe a neighbor just hooked up wireless internet? take battery out of key fob and see if it still does it,if still does, talk to neighbors and see if any one installed a new wireless router?also you can find out what mega hertz your system is running get a scanner and program numbers and see if there is any interference!!!Also when you take out battery out of key fob try soaking fob in rubbing alcohol and then let throughly dry then reinstall battery(if unit got wet maybe shorting terminals or sticking)try that may haft to reset alarm when you take out battery of fob!!!! :) Hope This Helps!!!!
the battery part just use a flat screwdriver, or if you are like my wife a butter knife, and pop off the back and go get a battery. You should not have to reprogram the remote. I just bought a 98 lincoln and the battery was dead in the remote also and all I did was replace the battery. hope this helps.
I have done this procedure for my peugeot 307, but you can give it a try for your Pug expert and let me know if it works.
Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes then after connecting the battery perform the following steps
1. Turn the Ignition switch to the ON position using your key.
2. Press the LOCK button for 10 seconds. It will set your ECU in programming mode.
3. Remove the key and wait for 10 seconds.
4. Press the buttons on the key repetedly for operation (lock und unlock doors) to synchronise the key signals.
5. Again turn the ignition on and start the engine.
6. Turn the ignition OFF
If fails in step 4, then disconnect the battery and reconnect it and wait about 10 minutes to check the remote. Some new ecu units synchronises itselfs if you disconnect the battery while in programiing mode.
you need to take it to the dealer and have them check the bcm for codes.... also have them check to be sure you have the latest software in the bcm.. its possible that you just need a software update... there are several TSB's covering the concern you have..... it can be a very simple fix with software or even a stuck lock switch may need to be replaced... without the proper diagnostic codes being read from the bcm all that can be done is guessing..and that can be expensive...
