Why wont my 1991 jeep wrangler start when I turn the key, but will start if I roll it. I replaced the starter and the silinoid....help....
Many newer cars will not start if the clutch pedle is not depressed , could be the safety switch not working.
Otherwise , maybe the starter / solenoid you put in is either not working , or not all wires hooked up. Need 3 wires. 1 big one from battery , 1 big one to starter motor , 1 small guage triger wire from the ignition key.
To check your starter , make sure car is in neutral and use a metal object to jump between the two big posts on the solenoid. if the engine turns over , the starter is good. Next jump power from battery to small post on solenoid , if engine turns over , solenoid is good too.
Hope this helps.
Check both fuel pump relay and if it has ignition relay
Ignition switch located on top o steering column, mine went bad, they overheat an contacts loose their place in harness...
