My 2001 chevy malibu ls v6cranks,starts up but right after,right after dies like somethings shutting it down. radio was locked from me disconnecting my battery without disconnecting the anti theft system. all my inside electrical somehow shutdown also. can someone please help me. i dont think my theftlight blinks just stays solid. helllp

Sounds like someone might have used some kind of thick grease to try and lube them at some point. You might try some CRC contact cleaner, or other spray solvent that will not hurt your plastic door panel parts, and try and get all of the old grease out of the latches. Then use something like a spray white lithium to lubricate them.

sounds like it may be starving for fuel, check or replace fuel filter and try again

on chevy malibu, turn key on engine off.let it stay on 10 to 15 minutes. then turn ignition off, take out key from ignition. after a minute start the car. this should work.

yes your problem is the motor. theres a new part number to replace that one. and correct not only malibu but also cobolt has the same problem
