Hydraulic lifters on Porsche 996. Are sticking lifters a problems on the 996 3.6 engine ? Misfire at idle, coils or lifters. Any thoughts guys ?

You could put a tiny bit a Auto Matic Transmission fluid in the oil for about 10 miles and then replace the oil with a little thinner viscosity oil. for example if you use 20-50w change to 10-30w. If they continue to make noise, replace them. They should not be too expensive, though it is a Porsche, lol

How much does it cost to do an oil change on a porsche 911 carrera 2003

Probably anywhere from $49 to $89 on up depending on which oil change you choose, using full synthetic oil. e.g. Walmart prices.

Maybe at the dealer it's more.

Are there special instructions for oil change?

im not a porsche expert bro but worked for gm for over 7 yrs and we had a cpl of porsches come through, there should be nothing special except fr the fact you should always change the oil with a full synthetic no high mileage **** or cheap oils.. Best ones on market for theses european cars would be mobile or royal purple the purple works very well for hard driving i use all there products for my drag cars and my dad uses it for his new BMW M5 but you should prob consult your dealer first porsche is a very delicate piece of machinery..have a good day..

I like to change oil myself (ensure plug is in correctly and filter tight). How difficult is this for my 2006 Porsche Caymen S or should I just take to dealer?

If your novice at oil changes, I recommend taking it to the dealer especially, your vehicle being a porsche you don't want to make a mistake thats going to cost you an engine. If the dealer messes up they have insurance for that, so play it safe its not worth your time to save a couple of bucks.... on a Porsche god bless.

Olio carrera 4s porsche

Usually the specs are located in the owners manual. It tells you the grade and amount of oil required on an oil change. If the specs are not in the owners manual, you can look at the oil fill port on the engine and normally has the recommended grade of oil. Otherwise, see if you can get your hands on a service manual. Good Luck.22
