SOURCE: replacing water pump on 1989 volvo 240dl
I did not have any problem installing the water pump. It took about 2 hrs.
Just pay attention to how the old one is designed and comes off the block.
Tap out the tube from the water pump to the heater core and replace the gasket in place with a small amount of gasket sealer to hold it in place.
use a lever to raise the water pump to squeeze the larger O ring into place so you can start the first bolt and you'll be on your way to the finish line in no time.
This is not a job for your average home owner do it your selfer. a little more than basic machanics is sugested to do this one.
SOURCE: 1998 VOLVO S70 INTERMITTENT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT,
intermittent engine codes are not serious and it just indicates that one or more of the sensors is reporting a bad signal..at what ever time intervals.....this just means that as you drive , bad connections develops as a result of the movement for a second or long enough for the computer to detect a fault and then it goes back to normal....you can check for bad connections yourself by wiggling the wires with engine running and see if the light comes on ..which will tell you where the bad connection is and then fix it yourself or just wait until the connection gets really bad and the engine light stays on permanently .the computer will then store the code thats causing the fault and you'll know exactly where it's coming from.

check battery, and try using higher grade of fuel with a shot of injector cleaner.
Testimonial: "I have tried the injector cleaner. I have not checked the battery although it seem to crank fine. I will have the battery checked. "
