SOURCE: Mass air flow sensor on a 1995 dodge stratus is located where?

Try to unplug maf sensor and try to start and run. ECM will go to default values. I vehicle starts and runs with sensor discoed then that is the problem. Make sure all connections for air induction between maf an intake are tight and there are no leaks. Air leaks after maf sensor will cause runability issues.

I do not have the solution for you but I will make a suggestion if you do not get an answer from someone else. Find a 2000 Dodge Caravan like yours at a used car lot and pop the hood and take a look. That may be your quickest solution.

Vacuum diagram 2001 Dodge ram 1500 5.9 gas

Vacuum what?, HOSES? or all intake plenum vac things.????
well there are not many vacuum devices on cars now.
5.9L engine
there is the brake booster, vacuum huge hose, easy to figure out.
then EVAP CAN.,, bingo for VAC hoses !
FPR hose? ,no it is part for top of fuel pump RACK at tank.
not tank vents hoses right? the other side of the EVAP system.
EGR valve? is bolt on,.yes vac,no hoses.
the service manual covers this.
is this a post collision question
or bought truck with no engine question, be nice to know how bad this is. (the story missing)
the IAC is vacuum but simply bolts on , no hose there.
The Throttle body is also VAC device bolt on to plenum intake man.
the MAP sensor is again VACUUM bolt on ,no hoses.
why not tell what is missing, see vacuum ports open?
hoses dangling? if yes, what does other end go to, bingo ,
or see DEVICE that is missing a vacuum line, like the EVAP CAN?

How do I fix a vacum leak on 2002 nissam sentra gxe

You have to find the leak and seal it up, hey. It may help to picture where vacuum originates in the engine: As the pistons move down in the cylinders they pull air in from the intake manifold. This creates a pressure drop in the intake, a vacuum that is maintained as the engine is running. New air that is pulled into the intake is measured by the Mass Air Flow sensor mounted in the big boot between the air filter and the intake. If extra air is pulled into the intake manifold from a vacuum leak, uncalibrated air, the computer can figure it out from the oxygen sensors reading in the exhaust-mixture is too lean, so the computer will try to compensate by delivering more fuel, but can't deliver enough, mix is still too lean, so computer sets a code for the vacuum leak.
The intake will have a few vacuum taps with hoses running to engine or car controls that require vacuum to operate. If one of the hoses comes off or has a leak, that is extra air into the intake. Your power brake booster has a large vacuum tap. That may be the problem. With the engine running, pull off that line and plug it, and see if engine speed changes. If the idle drops that may be your leak-a failed power brake booster.
If nothing yet, keep engine running and spray some starting fluid around the mounting area of the intake manifold (maybe the intake gasket has failed and sprung a leak) and listen for a change in engine pitch or speed. The fluid may get sucked into the intake and cause speed to change. If it does, you would need to remove the intake manifold and fit a new manifold gasket.
Also check the big boot from the air filter to the throttle body for tears or loose fit. Good luck, Rev!

Where would i install a vacuum gauge on a 1994 3.4l v6? The fitting at the back of the motor is about impossible to get your hand in between the plenum and intake.

REMOVE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER HOSE ON THE INTAKE.BUY A SMALL PIECE OF THE SAME HOSE TO POWER BRAKE BOOSTER.PUT IN ON POWER BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM PORT AND BUY A REDUCER SO YOUR VACUUM GAUGE HOSE WILL FIT.THEN CRANK CAR UP CHECK ENGINE VACUUM.

is there a check engine light on? did you change the spark plug wires?
you may have a intake gasket leak or possibly a cracked intake manifold. there is a simple test to try to determine if there is a leak in the intake but it can be potentially hazzardous. with a can of carberator cleaner, spray around the intake gasket and manifold. if the engine revs up, there is a leak. you can also purchase a vacuum gauge and test the amount of vavuum the engine makes. typically 17-22 hg. connect the gauge to a main vacuum port such as the hose to the brake vacuum booster

1999 mazda 626 4cyl runs rough at idle , engine dies at idle. check engine light on fault code 171 looked for vacum leak none found. replaced MAF sessor no help. any ideas

You may have to dig deeper for a vacuum leak. It's possibly the intake manifold gasket. Try spraying some starting fluid around the intake manifold. Also try disconnecting the brake booster and plugging that hose, the diaphram in the booster could be ruptured, causing a vacuum leak. Check the PCV valve and hose too.

Vacume line

This is the power brake booster vacuum line, the little round thing is a vapor separator to keep gas from entering the brake booster and destroying the rubber diaphragm, the line goes to the intake manifold near the rear of the manifold, the length of the vacuum line is a good guide to where it hooks up, if you run the engine you will hear a very loud vacuum leak to say the least.
