IN ANOTHER post I read
Remove the RH seat, rear seat bottom, and plastic trim holding the right side carpet down, unbolt the seatbelt from the floor, and the carpet will pull up easily. Transmission computer is in a plastic box under the carpet there.
not that i know off ,the LT van does i do know but the A6 model i dont think so last one i done which was a year older i had to unbolt the front then swing it out the way so i didnt have to drain the AC system ,lazyness i suppose as i do have a AC machine anyway
short out ?? fresh water ?? ---the computer for both the car and the autobox are under the front passenger floorwell LHD ,The air con outlet pipe for the condensate from the AC is damaged or blocked hence the water in the electrics .ANOTHER CASE OF SO CALLED DEALER MECHANICS ------ old saying if you only pay peanuts you only employ monkeys
Wow I thought they would have fixed this on the newer body style. My old 2000 A6 had the same issue. There is a drain in front of the bulkhead that gets blocked, in my case by pine needles from my tree. I used a coat hanger to clear it and then cleaned it every couple of months and no more drowning carpet. It used to be next to the battery(which they moved to the trunk) under the windshield wiper motor. I haven't checked the exact location on my 2005 but good to know it's still an issue.
I am not sure where the drain is located
crawl under the car and use a coat hangar.
