2002 Honda Accord SRS light is on

I have a 2002 honda accord SE and a few days after I replaced driver door window regulator and motor, the SRS light came on and it's staying on. Could it be related to the window, as in, is there a sensor in the door? The car does not have side air bags.
I have access to cen-tech 99722 OBD II scanner but it's not reporting any codes - i thought this one reports anything, not just the CEL codes, but i guess not.
Thanks for any input.

Thanks guys. How does the sensor in the door look like? Do you know if I will have to go through SRS light reset procedure? I havent' check the fuse yet, should do that probably, but car isn't here now...will do later today.

Hi, I havent' had the time to check if there are any sensors in the driver door, but i remember that i disconnected all wires in the door when i was replacing the window motor. Also, i connected only the motor while testing it so at the time, if there were any sensors they would have been disconnected and that would probably set of the SRS light?

dr_greg: How can I get the code? I only have the cen-tech scanner, but that one doesn't seem retreive SRS codes. Thanks

thanks everyone. We took our chance by betting it was a known problem/recall on seatbelt buckle and took it to the dealer. It ended up being that and the dealer fixed it free of charge...lucky this time...

Thanks everyone. We ended up taking a chance and gave it to dealer to check if it was the knonw seatbelt buckle problem. It was, and they replaced it free of charge.
    thanks for your suggestions.

Check the alternator for 13.8V to 14.2V

Also check the bad diode inside the alternator for ripple AC.

Do you have access to a know good alternator?

====
Other things to check.
====

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles

Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)

Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)

Seat covers

Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)

I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity problem.

I DO NOT recommend disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s).

Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.

New power window regulator installed, now window goes up to top then comes back down half way and stops. How to adjust?

It is important to learn how to fix a Honda Accord window if you have an older Honda Accord. Although the Honda Accord is renowned for being a durable vehicle, the electric window motor regulators in older models can wear out over time. This is noticeable when you hear sounds coming from the window when you attempt to use it but the window won't move. But don't worry, you can use these steps to fix a broken window in your Honda Accord.

To fix a Honda Accord window, you will need:
  • A Phillips screwdriver
  • A flathead screwdriver
  • A wrench set
  • A black marker
  • Masking tape
  • A new Honda Accord electric window regulator
  1. Remove the screws securing the door panel from the inside of the vehicle. These screws are beneath the arm rest. Release the door panel by prying it away from the front of the door. Work your way back by prying off the top and sides of the panel and the back of the panel.
  2. Remove the clips holding the door panel using a flathead screwdriver to pinch them together. Remove the panel by sliding it upward and away from the door.
  3. Remove the two bolts securing the window to the regulator. Note the position where the bolts secure the windows. When you re-install the window you will need to adjust them similarly. Making a small mark on the window with a black marker is a good way to easily keep track of the correct position.
  4. Lift the window directly up and remove it from the car door. Secure it using masking tape if you prefer not to remove it completely.
  5. Remove the bolts securing the window motor and guide. Remove the window motor and guide and set them aside.
  6. Remove the regulator from the power window motor assembly. Dispose of the old regulator and install the new unit.
  7. Re-attach the window motor and guide to the door by following the removal instructions in reverse. Test the new window regulator by turning on your ignition switch and moving the window up with the electric switch.
take it back apart somethings not tight

2002 Honda Accord driver side window won't go down

This could be a problem with the window switch, or the window motor, or the circuit between them, or the window regulator mechanism. Whatever it is, you will need to remove the interior door panel so you can inspect the regulator and test the motor. If the regulator looks ok, use a voltmeter to check if the motor gets current when you toggle the switch. If it gets current but does not move, it must be replaced. If it does not get any current, this means the problem is in the switch or in the circuit. Most likely it would be the switch. You can find an inexpensive after-market switch for your car from switch-doctor.net.

1996 honda Accord drivers window stuck down

If you here a click when you push the switch up or down, then it could be your window regulator (motor). To change remove door panel, there should be 3 bolts holding regulator to door frame and 2 bolts connecting regulator arm to window.

My driver's side window has fallen into the door. I have a 2000 Honda Accord. The motor on the auto window is still running.

Possible faulty window regulator. Pull panel and check if window guide(this holds the glass to regulator) on the regulator is damaged. Replace guide or regulator if damaged. Hopefully this helps
