Ihas just recently purchased a peugeot expert van1.9 deisel 1997 R plate and the heater/blower has stopped working . i have tried checking the fuse but with no plan of which fuse is which i'm not having much sucess. i've also tried to feed alive wire from the battery to the power on what i believe isthe blower but no success. i've tried testing all the live wires that seem to connect to the blower no success. i need areally easy to follow instructions on how to solve this problem, please note it is peugeot expert van 1.9 deisel 1997 on r plate. this was not in the category section
Hi, had same problem twice with my 98 expert , first time it was heater control board(the slider sends a varying voltage thru the thin green wire at the motor plug, to a semi conductor encased in an ally heatsink when checking motor operation check thick red wire for 12v, and thin green for 1.5-4.5v, depnding on slider movement, and thick green for earth conn) , second fault was overheated conns both at motor conn and at relay(mine was bright green cased one behind glovebox), Terry
If you connect a voltmeter on the heater plug between the Green/Yellow wire and the Green wire, you should (with the engine running) get between 0 and about 5 volts when you move the heater slider switch from left to right

I have a peugeot expert mini bus van 1999 found out the heater blower not working. i removed the blower unit and tested the motor and it was ok.and the ploblem i found was there is no power going to the red wire that connects to the fan blower i checked the fuse box and as for as i know all is ok but i have no idea what fuse it is connected to because i have no diagramfor it and were to go from here
1 of 2 things i always come across, 1st thing is the slider switch, then the variable resistor.
Agreed with above BUT FIRST check the RELAY
Mine had simply FRIED because of a bad connector. Its eight pounds for a new one and wish I had tried it first before stripping down the dash and changing the heater controls.

Never got round to cleaning up the unit simply replaced with scrap yard second SO I will sell this part on ebay for about thirty pounds 
Mine changed to black because they sold me a 40amp version
Dangerous Maybe - but will keep an eye on it. I think they only had a 40amp in stock.

Richard, I tried to remove the heater control also, but it seems that there are spring loaded leads coming from it and I am afraid if I pull any harder, these will come out and I wont be able to get the control back in again ?. Am I right ?
They can be a bit fiddly to get back but I did pull mine to bits and with the help of a sturdy pair of pliers reattach them, Because my van is old I wasnt too fussy so I kind of butchered my way through it. But its all back and working now.

Cheers for that. I had the same problem and it was indeed the relay.
I had same problem with my 1997 1.9D Expert. I took out the blower by removing 3 screws and disconnecting the 3 wire connector. I connected to a power source 12V: nothing happend. First thought was fan needs replacement. I decided to go more into the deep and took the plastic cover off by removing 1 screw. I found that 1 of the brushes was stuck in its holder. Therefore no contact came to the collector. I managed to get the brush moving again and problem solved :)
Brushes stuck in the holder was also the problem in my Peugeot 306 HDI. After cleaning, lubricated the assembly. All went back together and into place in about half an hour.
Sold the car 4 years later never had a glitch from the ventilator.

When you don't have 0-4v voltage on thin green (sometimes thin white) wire on the fan plug, probably you have problem with control panel (slider). Replace Zener diode. you need 7,5V diode. For example BZX85C7V5 or BZX55C7V5. I think original is bigger one. I bought smaller and it works. It costs couple cents.
BTW, your original resistor looks different than this on the picture. I replaced it for stronger, but it wasn't necessary.
