Brocken freelander sunroof

1. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
2. Push and hold the sunroof switch toward 2 . Once the sunroof has reached the full tilt position, release the switch. Push and hold the switch toward the 2 position again. After a delay of four seconds, the sunroof will make a small movement and backup.
3. Release the switch.
4. Within 5 seconds of releasing the switch, push and continuously hold the switch toward 2 . The sunroof will move from the tilt position to the open position and back to the close position.

you may have to strip out the roof lining to gain access to the sunroof component if you cant pull the sun visor free , dont keep pressing the power button as could at the least blow the fuse , at worst burn out the motor

Sometimes the electronic control module goes to sleep. Usually happens when you always unlock the car with the remote. Trying locking and unlocking the driver door several time to see if it clears up.

got me here to be truthfull ,i would assume that their is a stop shut off switch on the track ,if not open sunroof then with motor out operate the switch to open position and then put the motor in ,

if the sunroof makes no attempt to open, and the dome light does not dim when you press the switch, chances are the switch is defective. If the motor is bad, or the roof jammed you should see the dome light dim and blink when you attempt to open it.

yes, the remote has a function that if the unlock button is held down the windows and sunroof will open automatically. Perhaps you have a remote that intermittently sticks causing this concern.

Could be a relay for that door..
Or it could be the auto lock motor for that door.

You will have to trouble shot the motor assembly, They use a tiny electric motor in these and they are prone to failure. Access the motor and operate the controls, with a 12 volt test light check to see that power is sent to the motor on at least one wire, the wire that receives the 12 volts will reverse depending on what the glass is doing, opening or closing.
