CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON, ABS LIGHT COMES ON A LOT, BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON CONSTANTLY AND I HAVE A NEW BATTERY IN. SEAT BELT LIGHTS IS ON CONSTANTLY WHILE I HAVE SEAT BELT ON. MY ELECTRICAL ON PANEL IS ALL MESSED UP AND THE ONLY BAD FUSE IS THE ATC UNDER THE HOOD. WHAT CAN I DO, SUE
You have a short! You have a wire going to ground somewhere. Start with the ATC circuit.
Do not use a larger fuse then rated. If I am correct, and I feel I am, you could start a fire.
Get an electrical tester, unplug the fuse and check for continuity to ground. The battery side of a clean metal surface should give you no continuity (open). But should give you about 13 V DC.
The line side should not give you continuity or V. If it does you must trace the circuit, look for wire splices, tape, broken wire casing that kind of thing.
Or go to a shop that does car electrical work.
IF the fuse blows immediately, you've got a dead short. Trace the wiring harness backwards from the transfer case and shift motor, looking for chaffing or rub through.

Sounds like the fuel pump is shorted.

Find out why the engine light is coming on, it is the info u probably need to fix the running rough problem. Most auto parts stores will read the codes stored in your trucks computer for free, write them down, and ask what they mean and how to correct the problem. If u need more info, return to this site w/ codes for further help.
