SOURCE: I have a 99 528i, driver side door won't open from inside or out.

to be honest i would need the car in front of me to diagnose correctly but from the sound of it the mechanism inside the door is worn,the lever that springs open the jaws has worn to the extent that it will not push the two contacts inside the lock open to allow the door pawl to swivel around releasing the door.Only way is too remove the door trim if you can and operate the mechanism with a big screwdriver to open the door then renew the mechanism

you are correct they are flimsey and get fatigued with age easy to replace harder to find

SOURCE: i have 325i door handle broke on passanger side

OPEN DOOR REMOVE BLACK PLUG UP BY THE GLASS LOOK IN HOLE TAKES ALLEN WRENCH LOSIN IT PULL OFF END CAP OFF OF PAINTED PART OF HANDLE . PULL HANDLE OUT THEN TUG IT TOWARDS YOU SIDEWAYS THAT RELEASES THE HANDLE

You are trying to redesign the vehicle to make it work like you want it to. You can't do that, just get it fixed to work electronically.

The right rear door on my Citroen C4 is locked and will not open.

From the inside and outside? Check to see if the child lock switch is not on if you can. It's usually located somewhere inside the door. If not, then it is most likely electrical and you;ll need to take it to the dealer

Hi my passenger door on citroen c4 has an itermitant fault on passenger door , most time it wont open from outside if opened with remote locking but opens everytime from outside if unlocked with key

Sound like the lock actuator is at fault if it only unlocks with key. Also check wiring in door hinge area for wire breakages. You will probably find its dealer only for the part.

I have had an experience with another car and found faulty connectors, Because it is happening all the time, I would start looking at the Drivers side first. either both outside door handles are broken or door handle linkages are loose. remove door panel for visual inspection and verify

Passenger front door does not open from outside, only from inside. Also, driver's side door has to be jiggled a bit to get that door to open from outside. The inside latch is loose. Just bought this car...

this is a common problem with VW door handles, but an easy fix!!! The door handle needs to be replaced as the fork that lifts the lock has broken off or cracked. Depending on the model it is easy to remove the door handle. spring off the Crome mld on the front and on the slam side of the door behind the rubber u will find a phillips screw. Under the crome mld is the other.
