No brake lights

check to see if the release of the parking brake actually engages the warning light switch fully.

This is morelikely a connection problem some wire is causing this short circuit and the result is the fuse being busted, so first thing to do here is to check all wiring and make sure everything is connected properly....

Sounds like the brake switch on floor under brake pedal, needs adjusting or its bad.When you put on the brakes, it sends power to rear stop lights. The pedal hits this switch. Good-Day! ( if all else is good )

Remove the brake fluid cap which contains the sensor and shake it ,a good arm swing and if its sticking then this will free it it up

Could be the park lock solenoid. Thats the part that locks the shifter in park and requires you to press on the brake pedal to release.

The brake light switch is sticking on, the switch is located under the dash above the brake bedal, replace it.

We would suggest that you look at the wiring connector under the bed, that feeds the taillamps.

You will probably find a coroded wire in the connector. If the 3rd brake lamp works, all of the fuses and switches are good.

Shift Interlock System
The shift interlock system prevents the shifting from PARK unless the brake pedal (2455) is depressed. The shift interlock system consists of a shift lock actuator (3Z719) mounted at the base of the steering column tube (3514). If the ignition switch (11572) is in the RUN position, the shift lock actuator is continually on unless the brake pedal is depressed.

Thier is also the shift lock actuator ! plus wiring . You have a short to ground on that circuit . Do you know how to Find a short ? videos on youtube .

When my blazer did this they had to replace part of the wiring harness in the steering wheel. It took forever for them to get the parts because we live in nowhereville, but once it was in it works again and no problems. I had to take it to the actual chevy dealer because none of the other places had a clue. good luck.
