This is what just ran through my mind. You are tricked into thinking that the brakes lights didn't have a fuse, because they wasn't working. That fuse your replaced was for your chime, which is probably bad, so someone removed the fuse for it. The reason that your brakes lights dont' work could be 1 of 2 things. You do have a bad fuse, you just have to find it. If your brakes used to work, the fuse is not just going to fall out. Check all your fuses, but don't get them mixed up. The second most common this to cause this, is the small switch that sits behind your dash, up on the top of your brake pedal lever. You can see it from looking up from the floorboard area. check the right door circuit breaker, it is a 25 amp circuit breaker located in the instrument panel fues/relay box witch is located under the left side of the dash between the left kick panel and the steering collum.
