It could be the U joints in your drive shaft. If there is no problem to the transmission as to it's performance other then the squeaking noise in revers or slow speeds. Most likely it's going to be the U joint, the factory U joints don't have grease fitting and only have a life time of service.
The u joints may have reached it's life time and need to be replaced. You have two of them and most of the time it's just one that goe's bad, but changed them both since the drive shaft needs to be removed from the truck.
Good luck and hope this helps.

I belive the speed sensor broke because runs fine on the 1st gear and 2nd gear are fine when is time for 3rt it change to 3rt but rpm goes up and reject it and goes back to 2nd pretty much i can go...

take all wheels off the ground use jack stand, start engine up and put car in drive and let it run for about 5 mins, with wheel off the ground it should shift gears better, if it do you to change your transmission filter and oil, VERY IMPORTANT TO CHANGE OIL WHILE IT IS HOT! check oil to make sure no metal is in oil or heavy shavings, if shavings or metal is present you need new tranny, measure the amount of oil you take out put same amount back in, i really dont think you got a speed sensor problem you might have too much milage on your yukon, hay mon sure you service your yukon on time or else ford will excort you home, good luck mon and big up u self

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4x4 the transmission wont shift out of 2nd gear. I still have reverse, 1st and 2nd but it wont go from 2nd to drive. the speedometer also quit working it has approx. 122,800...

Sounds like you have lost a shaft(sungear) in the transmission. It can be repaired, but you can get a used one for less than half the cost. Repair-$1300.00+, used - around $500.00

Lost reverse in my 1995 Yukon 4wd, still have all other gears. Is my tranny shot or could it be something else?

I'd try replacing the shift modulator before any thing else. $20 screws in to side of ****** with vacuumn hose attached

92 gmc jimmy 4x4 problem!!!

If this vehicle has a smog air pump, it could be the gulp valve. It is likely to make noise on deceleration because it is vacuum controlled. But, can make noise other times also.

Trannsmisson Problems

check carefully to make sure it is shifting from 1st to 2nd.... there is a "sun reactor shell" inside the transmission that when broken causes reverse, 2nd and fourth to be lost. it is an extremely common failure.

best way to check.... drive along with the gear shift lever in "2" you should feel one shift as you accelerate. then carefully bump it into "3" or "D" whichever the case may be. another shift should be felt. if you do not feel a shift, you have likely stripped the teeth of that shell. hope this helps..

97 yukon 4wd. Jerks and makes noise like its

Hi amberdawn_84

My 97 yukon did the same thing (I believe). The valve body in the transmisson wears out (design problem) and causes the transmission to shift really hard. My repair was about $500 (nondealer).
LOVE MY YUKON!

Lost reverse, sluggish 1st gear

You will need to get the Tranny Shift Kit Inspected for Shifting Ball Slippage. Should not be a Big Repair unless it messed up the Clutches inside the Tranny.

Tranny problems

Well, you say the noise is in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, and I assume this is an overdrive tranny with the overdrive in 5th.

This means your 4th gear is more than probably direct (1:1) ratio.

Meaning you have a bad countershaft bearing(s), or gears...

In direct, your countershaft still spins but carries no power/torque to the wheels (it is basically just freewheeling), input shaft speed/torque goes directly/is locked to the output shaft, so you don't hear the noise; in any other gear, where the countershaft bears a load, you hear the bad bearing or gears.

Either way your tranny has serious internal issues and needs to be rebuilt before it destroys itself.
