Where is fuse for radio on a 2000 alero
Turn off the car before pulling out a fuse. Find the two fuse boxes in the passenger compartment of your Oldsmobile Alero. One is on the driver's side and the other is on the passenger's side of the instrument panel.
Consult your owner's manual to find the location of the fuse you need to change. You can also find this information on the inside of the fuse box cover.
Locate the blown fuse. If it's a radio fuse in a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, you'd find it in the slot marked "Radio Batt" in the fuse box on the passenger's side. Use the fuse puller inside of the fuse box to remove the fuse.
Check the inside wire of the fuse. A blown fuse has a burned or broken wire.
Put in a new fuse with the same rating. Verify the fuse rating against what's listed on the fuse box or owner's manual for the particular model and year in question. Click it into place and close the fuse cover. Restart you car and verify you've corrected the problem.
If the radio calls for a code:
If you bought the car new then there should be writen in the manual the code for the theft lock system on the radio. Pre-owned then it might ,might not be in there. or if you don't have one at all.
Go to your nearest GM dealer and have them fix it by finding the code using the Vin #. Make sure to have them write it down for you in case this happens again.
Good luck and hope this helps
