SOURCE: toyoyta mr2 brakes are gone

What part is bad that is leaking? Sounds like you are getting air into the brake line and this will cause a problem with te pedal going to the floor

You may have a bubble in the ABS. You can try bleeding there by loosening the lines one at a time, like bleeders. I have read that you might need a special rig to bleed some ABS systems. :-(

Brake pedal goes to the floor only when engine is running.

Hi Alicia, how is your brake fluid?Usually just changing front brake shoes requires no bleeding since the brake line was not open, how were your brakes before you changed the pads,if fluid is low, maybe back wheel cylinders are leaking.Front calibers could be bad,or even master cylinder, need more info.

99 ford explorer brake pedal goes to floor. Booster or master cyl. ?

Not likely that the booster is an issue. The booster would not be able to overcome the brake fluid compression.
First open and inspect all brakes for leaks, adjustment, etc. Check all brake lines.
So if no leaks, did the fluid go low in the MC? If so, pad consumption would eat more than a MC reservoir of fluid, and not require MC replacement, but rebleeding and top up of fluid. If the pads are worn, and you replace them, often this will expel air back through the MC.

If you determine the MC is faulty, bench bleed the new one before install, or you will have lots of problems getting air out....

Replaced brake pads on 2005 chevy malibu, and brake petal still goes to the floor

It take a few full brake application for the brakes pads to adjust there self and check the brake fluid level. Top off as needed with DOT 3 and be safe.

Brake pedal goes down to floor. Putting brake fluid doesn't solve problem. Vehicle must coast to a complete stop.

First look for obvious leaks under the vehicle, especially the inside area of each wheel... If you see fluid, you have either a blown cylinder seal or a bad line (check the rubber hoses to the front and back brakes too) Repair the offending part and bleed the air out of the system... (remember to clean pads or shoes if they have fluid on them)... If you see no hint of leakage anywhere, then suspect the master cylinder... if you remove the master cylinder, check and make sure that it didn't leak fluid into the brake booster diaphragm (Brake fluid will destroy the booster)... as in any repair when you open the system (lose fluid), you will need to bleed out the air to restore function... hope this helps...;-)

Brake problem with 95 ford bronco

does it still brake when the pedal goes to the floor. my guess is it is leaking fluid out of the rear brake cylinder. the rear brake cylinders are in side the drums so you may not notice a leak there.i would take off both rear wheels and take the drums off and see if there is a leak out of the seal on the brake cylinder. that is a fairly common problem with all drum brakes and the cylinders are only about 12 bucks at napa.
