Noise coming from firewall - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

If the vacuum (noise) is coming from the inside of the vehicle there is a good chance that it is the brake booster that is connected behind the brake master cylinder on the firewall....

Could be exhaust gasket leak.

Not sure on your model but maybe a relay clicking in and out on top of the heater. That is about all there is there.

The firewall on vehicles is the metal front of the cab between you in the drivers seat and the engine.
Wiring cables and steering column are put through openings in it to access.
The term "firewall" comes from this metal forming a barrier for protection from heat, noise and possible fire from the engine.

Some alternators have a built in filter capacitor. That can cause noise. Also check ignition wires for arcing...Grounds are near battery to fender, battery to block block to firewall and computer to fender. You cfan add grounds where needed (or wanted) with no problem.

It is not the firewall. This means your power-steering engine has gone bad and it might have affected the steering rack.

You need an expert to fix this for you.

Open your hood on the firewall on the passenger side youll see the heater blower see if you can hear same from that

Hi ,that noise can be the blower fan rubbing against the housing ,this is a very comon problem in many sistems ,they get worn with time and out of balance and start making noise....C1
