Shifting out of park into any gear as well as while driving (down and up shift) the car jerks real rough. Car does not idle high, allready adjusted that but still very rough. No codesare coming up, did fail pressure test at emissions though last week and I did have a few hoses replaced... Any recommendations?
WARNING!! Take it to a mechanic, those are signs of your transmission going out.
Good Luck
This happened before though and I want to say one of the vacuum lines came apart or something, too many fixes in this car and I just cant remember what I did or where if that was the case.
U underastand yet If you have problems with shifting I really recomend checking your transmission just in case
I understand, but im a single mom of 3 young children, no help and no money, Im just barely getting by and cant afford to take it anywhere.... so that why im looking for any other possibilities....
Understand.. Wish you best of luck, God Bless
Ok so after inspecting I found a hose that came off (from the throttle body I believe and it connect to a metal rod to a hose) well plug it back in kind of near the fan where it looked like it should go maybe, and I guess that was the problem. Not idling high at all and not jerking while gears shift.
Wonderful!!

Make sure high idle linkage is allowing it to kick down after it warms. otherwise back out idle screw.

Light bulb may not be completely seated in dash. The whisling noise could be any clamp on the intake tubing, a crack in the tubing, throttle body connections, cracked rubber holes such as PVC valve area. As long as the engine is not hot you could lightly spray some carb cleaner in suspected areas you can't actually see well and listen if the engine revs up in rpms all of a sudden. That will be the area to look for holes where it is sucking the carb cleaner fluid into the engine. Good luck.
