Under the e/brake there is a switch it actuates the light, i would say that it is corroded/stuffed. take off the h/brahe surround and you should be able to see two elec wires if not the switch itself, if you just want the light off cut one of the wires and tape it up, this will brake the circuit and diable the light, or if you want it fixed properly, replace the switch. hope this has been handy.
I had a very similar problem with the emergency break light in my 1994 chevrolet k2500........
do you have a pedal......or a lever?
"""if you have a pedal...this is what you should do....
some pickup s like the c/ks have a emergency break pedal that in order to warn you that the emergecy break is engaged....
the break it self has to be away of a "switch like [clip]"... as soon as you dis-engage the emergency break pedal....the pedal will travel back to its original position and it will be making "contact with this clip'.....
why dont you take a look...."look for it, it should be located at the very front just under the pedal....."
if it isnt making contact...try adjusting it...."i think it is made out of copper...and it should be easy to adjust..."
i hope this helps.............

Check to make sure the brake fluid reservoir is full, sometimes low fluid will turn that light on.
