Heater core on 1995 mercury mystique

This is usually due to a leak in the heater core. The antifreeze will leak from the core and then either fall into the condensate pan and leave the vehicle or will drip out and saturate the carpeting on the passenger side of the vehicle. You can bypass the heater core on most cars by re-routing the heater hoses under the hood until you can replace the core... but you won't have any heat either. Heater cores on most cars are difficult to access and replace. You may even need to evacuate and recharge the AC system to perform the job.

If the heater hoses are getting hot, and the radiator is full of coolant, you could have a problem with one of the blend doors under the dash. The blend doors direct air flow thru the heater core and the vents.

Might be the Resistor pack located close to the blower. Could be under the dash or under the hood, but always close to the blower itself. Usually has a flat connector with 4 or 5 wires, and two small screws holding in the duct. It may be a crispy critter. It happens... The blower moves air across it to keep it cool. The blower motor may be bad as well, or possibly the fan speed switch. May very well be the fuse for the blower as well. The blower connector may be loose. Let me know what you find.

If the coolant temp gauge is in it;s usual position when driving(at least 1/3 way up) then flush the heater core with a garden hose.Clamp off the heater hoses,remove them from the heater core and flush back and forth a few times until flow is good,reattach heater hoses and you should have heat as long as the heat/cold airflow door is in the heat position in the heater assembly under the dash.

Are you sure that the light that is on is for the Reservoir and not for the radiator itself? Your light might be indicating that the radiator is out of water or overheating. Or is it just simply the light for your windshield washer fluid and you might be looking at the wrong reservoir under the hood. You might try unplugging the sensor to see if a change of state effects the dash light. then plug it back in and check it. Good Luck!!

Check all of the fuses located in the black box under the hood close to the battery on top of the inner fender. All power to the car begins there. Check for large fuses 30 amp to 60 amp. Make sure the heater fan is left unplugged. When working on components under the dash always disconnect the ground cable from the battery

YOU'LL FIND A MELTED 40 AMP FUSE IN THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE DASH ABOVE AND LEFT OF THE BRAKE PETAL. GOOD LUCK!

You need to replace the <<<<Blower Motor Resistor >>>Napa has the part 20-30 bucks it is located by the heater core under the dash.. I just replaced one in wife's car last month

locate the blower motor under the dash behind the glove box and hit it with a hammer ,usually works every time
