Ford had a problem with the door handles not working properly. They are cheap plastic. If the exterior door handle is broken, you will need to drill out the rivets that hold it in, and then get the door open and the panel off. You have to disconnect the rod going to it. Then, remove the handle. If you don't want to drill again, I suggest replacing the rivets with a bolt and nut easily obtainable at your hardware store. I've found that a M7 bolt works very well. If you are having a problem with the interior door handle, it's the same problem. Remember to check your door latch because if your exterior handle is broken, then your latch isn't working properly. I got one at Ford for about 40 bucks.

Hold the door handle in the open position while using a bent coat hanger on the door catch lever.Sometimes a flathead screwdriver works to pry the door catch as well. Good luck, keep me posted.

I believe there is a cable which connects the handle to the latch, they are pron to breaking.

I am not sure how to manually release the latch....
however,
if it is electronic, i would check the fuse for it.....normally though on the inside there is a little access to things like that, so you can manually open it...would be like a small lever.

Looks like dirt, moisture and others have combined to clog the linkage mechanisms of your lock/latch.
You would need a can of lubricant such as WD-40. Spray the lubricant on the lock/latch, and try to close the door. Repeat as necessary and watch what happens.
Once the latch begins to operate, dab some clean engine oil to the latch again, this wiould ensure long-life trouble-free operation.
