So this morning I stop to fill up with fuel and I can't put the nozzle in the tank! ... station where their fuel nozzle didn't "fit" the capless thing so the door didn't open. ... You need the Ford funnel. ... Like they're saying, if the pump end isn't big enough it won't hit the latch. ... You'll get the nozzle stuck in the filler.

There is a fuel filler door release switch on the driver's side door in the map pocket. The fuel filler door will pop open when the switch is pressed. It is closed manually.

If this system is malfunctioning, a manual release is located in the trunk. Remove the access cover which is located on the left-side inner trim panel and pull the release cable. The fuel filler door will pop open.

the fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. under the hood in black box[main fuse and relay panel] before you replace the pump, i suggest that you check fuel pump relay. or have you been hit from rear? you may need to reset the fuel pump shut off switch. you will find the reset switch in rear of car, look for a pop out panel on the left hand side when you open the trunk. push the switch in [like a reset switch for old t.v. push it in and then try to start the car before you replace the fuel pump please! but if you know for sure that the fuel pumps bad, drain all the gas out before dropping the gas tank. this will save you alot of trouble. also disconnect the positive cable from battery before you do anything!!!!!! hope this helps, merry christmas. and as always,if you need further assistance, please repost your question and an expert will be happy to assist.

Check your fuel filter and see if fuel is getting through it. You will know whether to look forwards or backwards after looking at the filter.

If you have the switchable gas tanks check the switch. Usually one side will always work, but if it came apart inside it may block the lines.

Since you have pumps at the tanks you should be pushing fuel, not like a diesel that pulls fuel. I would say a TPS (throttle position sensor) could be bad as it tells the injectors to let the gas in, but you say the injectors are dry. When you test, block the TPS open a bit or test for fuel before the injector rail.

I had the same question when I got my 94' 850 Turbo wagon. I kept wondering where the fuel door release was. To my surprise there was not one, you simply must have the entire "CAR" (not just the drivers door) unlocked. Use the key FOB. After that, go to the fuel door outside the vehicle and push in on it to pop it open. Hopefully you have not run out of gas yet.

Check in the trunk and look at the sides where you will see an opening with a switch. There is one for the fuel pump and another for the air suspension if it has one.

The fuel pump switch has a button on top; push it and hold for 3 seconds. Do not slam the trunklid or the doors. Try to start the car first. You should now hear the fuelpump motor hum for a second or two when you turn the key. If the fuelpump switch(Inertia switch) helped then a door or trunklid was closed just enough to trip the switch. It should be okay now.

If the car does not start you need to determine whether it is missing the spark or the gas. Let us know if it started.

I have a 97 and there is no release for it. Just push on the right end of the gas cap door to open it. Hope that helps.

Have you looked in the trunk on the side that the gas tank is on? There may be a fuel release switch. Couple of other things to try is to unlock all your doors from the inside of your car and/ or try pushing in and out on the gas door over and over until, hopefully, it triggers the device. 1. Open luggage compartment door. <<< TRUNK
2. ((Remove RH plastic cargo tether hook by unscrewing from body.
3. Pull back luggage compartment trim on right side at rear lamp to reveal Inertia Fuel Shutoff switch (IFS switch) .
