Could be the wiring or the switch, turn on the headlamps and put a testlight in the plug of the lamp that doesnt burn and see if you have power, if no power go to the switch and check continuity between switch and headlamp plug, if no continuity replace broken wire. If there is contunuity replace headlamp switch.

Bulb Replacement
The headlamp is a semi-sealed beam type which uses a replacable
halogen bulb. The bulb can be replaced from the engine compartment
side without removing the headlamp body.
I Grasp only the plastic base when handling the bulb. Never
touch the glass envelope.
1. Disconnect the battery cable.
2. Disconnect the harness connector from the back side of the
bulb.
3. Pull off the rubber cap.
4. Press end of the retaining pin together to release bulb.
5. Remove the headlamp bulb. Do not shake or rotate the bulb
when removing it.
6. Install the new bulb in reverse order of removal.

SOURCE: 2005 Nissan Maxima SE Fog light replacement

jorgeva: on the driver's side to gain access, you must remove the air cleaner assembly. At that point, you can see the back of the light which has a plastic cap. Rotate this "counter clockwise" and you can pull it back from the back of the lamp housing. From there you will see how the bulb it self is plugged in, which is obvious. Unplug it. There is a "spring "like latch retainer to hold the bulb in place. Unlatch it, remove the bulb and install the new bulb.
CAUTION!!!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS AREA OF THE NEW BULB! Only handle the rear section. Reassemble in the reverse order.
The right side will require the removal of the windshield washer tank.
I trust this will have answered your question. If you would, let me or FIXYA know if I have solved your problem......

SOURCE: replacing headlight bulb on a 2005 nissan maxima

Hi,
You can purchase a Haynes Manual or go on-line to nissantechinfo.com and purchase the factory service manual in .pdf format and download it for around $20 bucks for an hour of access. If yours is an HID bulb the cost is mostly the bulb. And, if you are not familiar with HID then I would let them do it. But, if you feel comfortable just jack up the car on the driver's/passanger side and remove the tire to get access to the inner fender well. Remove the clips and screws and you now have access to the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the access cover on the assembly and you will find the back of the bulb. If it just a turn and the access cover comes off and then the same for the bulb.

I have a 2000 maxima...when headlights are on, passenger side blinker stays lit on the dash and doesn't flash at all. While the headlights are off and i turn the passenger turn signal on it then b

Plain and simple...Your turn signal circuit is shorted to your headlamp circuit. What USUALLY causes this is an incorrect light bulb has been installed in the vehicle or the light bulb was installed incorrectly. There are other possible causes of these circuits being shorted together, but 99 out of 100 of the times that I have seen this it is either because somebody just replaced a bulb or a bulb socket melted somwhere on the car. Be sure to check both the front AND rear bulbs.

I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima with hid headlights an the bulb is blown an i have replaced the bulb an it still doesn't work, i checked the fuse box inside an outside, is their any other fuses i can...

It sounds like you have wire problem. This problem can be manny problems from a short due to exposed wire or it is broken somewhere... ect. if it is not the wire check further back the line to see if the buse is recieving power. Or it could be as simple as the plug you put the bulb in has a broken contact tip

I have the same problem as Sony 11. Passenger side high beam will not operate. Fuses OK. No visible corrosion. Took bulb from passenger side that didn't work and put it on the drivers side and it works....

The only thing it can be ie either wiring or connector terminals - a broken wire or a connector that has pulled loose in the circuit somewhere. try trace backwards from the headlight for any faults, I know it is difficult because everything goes back into inaccessible harnesses, but there really is no other way out. Check that the relay is plugged in properly and also inspect the fuse box where the wires come out.

as for the headlight, did you check the fuse. on some vehicles there is a fuse for the left and right headlight! the fuse should be in the underhood fuse and relay box.

Driverside headlight doesnt work

There may be a fusible link that is burnt out. Check all connections.
Follow wiring to switch. Test switch and connections. See if there is a relay in between that can be tested.
