I changed batteries in my 2001 mitsubishi diamante ls and now it saids code. I have my radio serial number and model # which is
radio serial # 99d66010
Model # MR490090
Use the preset buttons 1 2 3 and 4 to set the code (preset 1 scrolls through digits 1, preset 2 scrolls through digit 2, etc) Then push the mode button to unlock the radio... If you have separate am/fm, cd, tape buttons, try each once the code is in, the correct one will unlock your radio. (it is usually either am/fm or cd)

take the radio out and write down the serial number reistall the radio and take the car to a mitsubishi dealer and they will give you the code after showing them the serial number and that you are the registered owner of the diamante. i have done this many times even with honda. they might want to charge you for the code but dont pay beacuse they usually do this service for free.
In the USA anyone can get their radio code for free direct from Mitsubishi by telephone. You will need the following information:
Last 8 characters of your VIN #
Radio Serial Number
Call Mitsubishi:
1-888-648-7820, option 1, option 4
Current hours: 6am to 5pm Pacific, M-F.
Tell representative that you replaced your battery and now need your radio code. If you are not currently a registered owner, they will ask for your info for registration.

If not in the USA then sorry....Main MITSUBISHI Dealer or Radio Decoding Service only for this code
It will not be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet
If the radio was supplied with the vehicle when sold new, then your Mitsubishi dealer will have the code on their database (they just need the car's registration plate number).
Mitsubishi will advise you of the code, providing you can prove ownership of the vehicle.
You need to pull the radio out, get the serial # off of it and take it to the dealer. They can get you the unlock code for the radio unless someone has changed it.
in order to get the code for that car you are going to have to call the dealership. and give them the specs on your car and maybe even your vin number.
