To reset the light, turn the key to position two and have the drivers door open for about 40 seconds, the light should automatically go off.. good luck.
sounds like your brake light switch took a shot this is located on the brake pedal itself i would replace all brake light bulbs and switch to resolve your issue
The indicator light is there to tell you your brakes are out of adjustment just remember that if you just replaced your brakes that your parking brake may need adjusted this will make the light stay on also.
The brake master cylinder reservoir has a separate chamber and is used to supply the hydraulic clutch system. So make sure master cylinder reservoir is full.
There is a Relay under the Hood in the Fuse Relay Box. Replace this and it should be OK. If not let me know so that we can look elsewhere for the Problem. Please Rate my Solution, I need all the Help that I can Get!
Failed or faulty oxygen sensor, or faulty catalytic converter. It's actually the oxygen sensor reading that the catalytic converter is not functioning properly & needs relacement. That's provided the oxygen sensor is not faulty, which personally, I'd go for that first.
Both would explain excessive fuel usage.
