My buick Lesabre dies when i let off the gas such as going into a turn. Sometimes it even does it when I am coasting down a hill.

Try this it might cure the problem. works for me most of the time.

Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

Sounds like it's your IAC (idel air control sensor).  The IAC is a computer-controlled air bypass valve located in the throttle body. It helps control idle speeds by allowing air to bypass the throttle plates as to increase the idle speed.  If the IAC isn't working properly the car will stall when you are not pressing the gas pedal.  It is located on your throttle body and is relatively cheap and a simple change since it is normally held in my two screws.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for an honest ranking and for using FixYa!

Had this on 91 lesabre, wire going to crank sensor had bare spot and occasionally bumped on eng block above sensor, would die, but started right up again, if going straight, could shift to neutral and restart while coasting. Dangerous when turning corner

I have a 1994 buick lesabre, it idles fine however when you drive it and come to a stop sign it either tries to cut off or dose cut off, pressing the gas pedal dose nothing at all, some times it will try...

If t dies hard - feeling like the trani is not disigaging when you stop - it could be a electronic part inside the trani.. This part tells the stall converter to kick in at a stop.. Not super expensive to fix.. But best done by a trani shop....
