We ha d trouble with it holding a charge, figured it out to be the starter. Went to take it to have starter replaced and the vehicle wouldn't fire. We jumped 4 times and it fired immediately but the fifth time it wouldn't fire and a warning light of an engine with an arrow down appeared. Where should we go from here ?
Take it to a qualified repair shop.

My problem was solved when I repaired my 4 wd activation dash switch. The switch was contacting on 2WD & 4HI at the same time. The front differential activation is vacuum activated possibly creating a tug of war that didn't actually engage it but drained off vacuum from the engine? A theory at best but stumbbled across it because I knew the switch wasn't working properly I repaired it and low and behold rough idle disappeared and all is good for 3 weeks running.

could be a problem with the MAP sensor. I have a 93 escort and it had a simalar prob and it was just a dirty map sensor. I cleaned it and it is running exelent now.

gmc put two sistems to the fuel pump 1 fuel pump relay 2 oil pressure sensor if the relay is bad it takes longer to start until oil pressure is buildup if the oil is too old or too tick or the oil pump is old not building enogh pressure all that together is very bad but depend how many miles on
