Reset the computer & check the fuel PSI. You may want to replace the gas filter. when u run dry, the filter picks up all the dirt at the bottom of the tank. Make sure your gas PSI is good before u get into electronics. start w the basics. That would set that code too trying to start dry.Good luck

SOURCE: i need help resetting my 94 GMC seirra's gas gage

the gas gauge is on the fuel pump assembly with in the fuel tank, you must have bumped it during reassembly. the only solution is removal. pull it out check for alignment and binding, reassemble being very careful. hope this helps.

Car wont start after I ran out of gas

Take off the smaller wire off the starter motor. Put the key in the start position and hold it there for a few seconds. Listen for the fuel pump running. If you hear it running then it feels like it stopped, then let go of the key and reinstall that wire on the starter motor. It should start.

My car was low on gas and cut off on the way home. i went and got some gas but car wont start. what could be the problem?

Is it still not working? Sometimes you need to let it sit about 15 minutes to get it started again and there may also be a chance you didnt put enough gas in it. My car ran out going up a hill and we put in 2 gallons but needed another gallon before my car would start again.

Hope this is helpful

Almost ran out of gas. put 5 gallons in tank.

worst thing for fuel pumps is to run dry. The pressure will need to be confirmed. If none ,you overheated the pump and it will need to be replaces.

Ran out of gas......

Sounds like fuel pump burned out when you ran out of gas. probably ran dry for about 20 sec till engine quit. Check for power to fuel pump in tank. Most likely fuel pump will need replacement . Hope this helps

2004 nissan titan...ran out of gas

Good chance that even on 4 gallons it may not start I would try for more, prime the fuel pump several times by turning the key on and leaving it on for around 5 seconds then shutting it off and repeating, obviously not trying to start. I've had cases where even small FWD cars won't start even on 4 gallons on a 12 gallon tank. The newer fuel pumps are a closed system that only allow a small portion of fuel into the pump housing to keep contamination down. Let me know if after adding a few more gallons it won't start we will trouble shoot from there. Thank you for using fixya.com
