This is probably a bad u-joint(s) crawl under the truck engine off and in park and on a flat spot, twist the drive shaft if it clunks at all or has some up down or left right slop the joints are shot and will need replacing. And yes the u-joints will cause a drive line vibration that seems like a transmission issue it goes away with speed as the shaft will spin fast enough the vibration will become only a hum.

SOURCE: 2007 yukon gears seems striped or transmisson prob. only 72000 mi

It is an internal trans problem. I build transmissions for a GM dealer. It is going to be the input carrier, forward sprag, and 3rd/4th clutches. I have seen several. Get it to your dealer. That truck has a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. That includes the trans. Good Luck.

SOURCE: tranny makes noise in 1st gear then goes away in 2nd gear

It could be the U joints in your drive shaft. If there is no problem to the transmission as to it's performance other then the squeaking noise in revers or slow speeds. Most likely it's going to be the U joint, the factory U joints don't have grease fitting and only have a life time of service.
The u joints may have reached it's life time and need to be replaced. You have two of them and most of the time it's just one that goe's bad, but changed them both since the drive shaft needs to be removed from the truck.
Good luck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2001 GMC Jimmy rough jump into 1st & 2nd gear after a stop

The more I learn about these solenoids, the more we can say that these trans shops may have lied to us from the start in stating the need for rebuilds...

Read up on all the different easily replaceable solenoids in the trans...

SHIFT Solenoids,
Kick Downs,
TCC,
And a few others...

If you don't normally get the trans service done on your truck, it will be more prone to damage...

So spend the money in preventative maintenance than to suffer from these headaches and then still spending money to have it repaired, and taken for thousands instead of just barely a $100 bucks worth of solenoids...

I have a 1988 Corvette with a 700R4, not wanting to shift from 1st. to 2nd. unless I leave my foot off the gas for it to shift. Contact [email protected]

Transmissions have "synchros" that adjust the speed when shifting from one gear to the next, because the engine's RPMs, while correct for, say, 1st gear, are too high to shift to 2nd gear.

If you're really careful, and an expert driver, you can shift a manual transmission from one gear to the next without using the clutch at all.

However, you seem to have a transmission problem with the 1-2 synchros.

Squeak in low gear.

Try spraying the belt with a "dressing" spray. With the engine not running of course. If it stops, then your belts may need adjustment or replacement.

I have a 1995 honda accord ex 2.2l vtec 5 speed. it has a vibration in 2nd gear on acceleration and intermittantly a vibration around 45-50 when i am in 5th gear at low rpms. around 1800-2000. I down shift...

if you have just rreplaced the axles that might be the issue,or you tires might have gone out of balance on the front. oyah you might look at both axles and see if there is a clean ring around one them, if so you lost your axle dampner off the axle and you have to replace it if you did just change axles you need to ask for the ones with the dampners on them it will cause a heck of alot of vibrations if the don't have them on them.

Transmission

The 5r55w transmisson is known for wearing out the case where the front and middle band servo pins go thru. If it wore the front band servo, it would slip in 2nd. But if it slips in 1st and 2nd it sounds like it could be a weak forward clutch. How many miles does it have on it. If you can get it up into the higher gears, does it slip in 5th. 2nd and 5th use the same band to apply them. Are you gettting and overdrive off light flashing? IF yes, what codes?
