Have a wheel alignment done after a complete front suspension check as what you describe is castor wobble from bad wheel alignment. Have the tyres check for side wall bulge and steel belt separation as well.

SOURCE: 2002 Toyota Prius needs new transmission

Looking at the age of the vehicle - I would not invest $5000 in it.

Look in your local business pages for second-hand parts dealers, and get a quote for small garages to do the work of replacing it.

Chances are you will find a low-milage transmission for $250, and pay around $200 to have it installed - so for $450 you're good to go again.
If this was a younger vehicle, then yes I would go through dealerships to keep the logbook perfect; But at this age it's only 3 years off it's designed lifetime, and 10 year old vehicles are very low priced.

My 2002 toyota prius' HV battery is making a lot of noise, hardly any regeneration watts, and the diagnostic code is P3006, what should a do? Sometimes the car almost stops because the battery shows...

It is your Hybrid Traction Battery. P3006 refers to a problem in cell number 6. It will need to be replaced or rebuilt. You can do it yourself with a replacement module from eBay. Watch some videos on youtube.

Removal of 2008 Prius steering wheel -

with a small flat screwdriver, remove the 2 by 2 inch black plastic covers behind the steering wheel. one of them has a hole for the cruis control lever.
loosen but dont remove the two torx screws behind these covers.
allow the airbag to fall out into your hands.
carefully raise the two yellow retainers on the airbag wires, then pull the wires away from the airbag module.
then squeeze and pull the black horn wire from the airbag.
to replace the steering wheel, unplug all the wires you see and remove the 19mm nut holding the wheel.
then by hand wiggle the steering wheel toward you.

Steering Problem in Toyota Prius

This violent shaking where you can stop it by holding the steering wheel in my experience is due to a BAD rack and pinion. Replace rack and that will solve this problem. Good Luck and thanks for using FIX YA
