Low idle will load up and stall IAC &TPS replaced and TB cleaned

Idle has bee erratic for past few months.at times it would go from 1k to 500rpm and at times load up. Higher rpm smooth out but at times it would have a slight buck but when at idle would drop way down and sometimes stall but always start up. as time went on idle got worse got worse. iac and tps replaced and TB cleaned replaced lower cooling sensor and connector. Checked wires with extra spark plug and grounded plug end and got spark @ all 4 replaced plugs with AC delco stock. after IAC and TPS were replaced idle still the same but seemed to get better as days went on but then got worse and now when starting Idle will be at about 1200 to 1500 rpm and drop right down to about the 700 to 800 and drop at almost stall and loading up and then go to 700 and drop and at low idle this is what is happening. The loading up is getting worse if accelerator higher it will clear out loaded gas but go right back to low idle and big black spot below exhaust after clearing out with higher rpm. When I drive and slowing down take it out of gear (5 speed)and play with gas and brake when having to stop. Also engine light comes on intermitenly sometimes longer sometime just goes off but almost always resets its self when engine turned off and restarted. when stalling because loaded up keep pedal to the floor and crank and it does always start up and clears out loaded cass with black screen behind. Was told things like EGR to coil pacs. I aske two mechanics I know about the issue and from open injector to whaever. was considering bring to dealer to hook up to computer but was told because OBD1 readings very limited and only trial and error with parts. Hate doing that and it becomes costly and going to Junk yard and getting parts off a non running ingine could fix but you also don't know the part is good so a no change condition may also be a bad part. The iac and tps were by Standard. Any help would be appreciated. Also cooling temp sensor from auto zone.

I think you have ruled out the engine with all the parts you have replace. The transmission torque convertor is in lock up mode all the time. The engine is having to hard of a time to stay at the normal idle. The over drive clutches and soleniod are most likely damaged in the transmission.
I think you should take the vehicle to a trasnmission shop , The can check the torque convetror soleniods and pressure control soleniod.

The oil light coming on bothers me. I know you have the rebuilt engine in the vehicle but I think the oil pump in the engine is starting to go out or could be weak. The lower bearings connected to the crank shaft might be starting to leak. Have the oil pressure checked .

check your vac. lines if there is a crack or one of them is off it will **** way to much air and there will be missing and no power. start by looking at the lines and listening for air.

On modern day cars the parts that get fitted need to be adapted to the ECM using a decent diagnostic machine. I bet that this was not done and the car is now suffering as a result.
Something to try is resetting the ECU, simply disconnect battery for 10 minutes, reconnect, then start car from cold *without touching gas pedal* and leave idling until the rad fan comes on (this resets all the base idle settings) then take it for a drive - hopefully will solve the problem

SOURCE: The RPM's on my truck are running very low (500rpm

1) Check your MAF sensor, its located inside the collar in the air ducting next to the air cleaner. It could be that it has become dirty leading to an underestimate of the amount of air entering the engine. The PCM responds by reducing the injection cycle and the engine is starved of fuel air mix. If it is dirty spray it with electrical cleaner (this is a no residue fluid - do not use carb. choke cleaner or WD40 here) 2) check all tubing connected to the inlet manifold for leaks. I include EVAP pipe, transmission vacuum tube, Positive crankcase pressure ventillation valve, EGR valve etc, and brake servo assist. Simply block each off, in turn, when at idle. 3) spray WD40 around the injectors and inlet manifold to block seal to determine that there are no leaks 4) Maybe check the crank and cam sensors themselves and their connections.

2003 spacewagon wont idle when engine is cold

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

There are many other possibilities causing these idle issues. Engine idles rough.

2003 cartier 4.6L 120K miles. Rough idle, at idle only.

has anyone checked for a vacum leak? a vacum leak will cause rough idle at idle. check the lines from the pcv valve.
