  • natoli22 Jan 04, 2014

Yes, the battery can cause that. Battery need to be replaced. The battery is not giving enough CCA (cold Cranking Amps) to kick the starter motor over.Try a diffrent battery in your car, you will see

SOURCE: self diagnostic test codes

anytime you do the self-diagnostic you will almost always get those 2 codes.

12 - direct power input to the PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles

55 - End of error messages

Codes diagnostic

Code 13 is a problem with the intake air temp sensor.
Code 15 is a problem with the idle speed control motor sensor circuit.
Code 21 is a problem with the coolant temp sensor.
And code 24 is a vehicle speed sensor fault.
You would need to erase the codes and see how many come back again before you start testing components. Something may have happened to the engine wiring harness.

Starting

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant teperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS & TESTING IS COMPLETED.

Check engine light came on

What do you mean "can't find code"? If the check engine light is on, there is a fault code stored in your onboard computer - that's the way it works. If you are using a generic OBD code reader, that is most likely the reason you cannot find any codes. You need to use a scanner that has the correct software to access your ENTIRE computer network, not just the "continuous memory" or "generic" side of your computer system.

The window problem is a seperate problem and must be diagnosed accordingly.

My hyndai santafe wont turn over

Which one is it?... Elantra?... or Santa Fe? In either case, the problem could be fuel pressure (fuel pump), then again, it might be crank sensor, coolant temp snsr, Intake Air Temp snsr. Have you scanned it for any trouble codes? Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' (Service Engine Soon) light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.
