You have two, one + and one negative. Hot one goes from battery to starter motor, so simply disconnect and replace. I find it wise to use a larger size cable than stock to insure strong current passage. Ground usually is right on top from battery to engine bracket. Use same larger gauge wire as for +. Be careful to route everything to stay away from hot exhaust parts and to not rub steering or other moving parts.

How to replace the battery without reset the radio's code?

A simple way is to take another 12 volt battery and connect it with jumper cables right onto the existing battery connections. Connect positive + to positive and negative - to negative which is parallel wiring. Now remove the connections from the battery you are going to replace without knocking the connections from the donor battery loose. Once you get the new battery installed, simply disconnect the jumper cables. Make sure you connect the cables as described above to keep the voltage at 12 volts and do not connect them in series. Connect them wrong an you will have 24 volts and may damage your electronics. If for some reason you loose the code it is simple to get the code from Honda. Just go to the Honda Owners link below and register your Honda. You will need the VIN # off your car. They will provide the code free of charge.

Change battery on 2005 nissan frontier wont start

Hi, If the problem is associated to you replacing the battery, then it could be a few different things. 1) Is the replacment battery fully charged? If not, charge and retry. 2) Are the positive and negative battery cables connected correctly to the battery? With this you have to be sure that you have a good connection to each battery terminal. Try removing the cables and taking a wire brush to the terminals. Once clean, reconnect them and try to start again. 3) Is the positive cable broken? If broken replace the cable. 4) Is the negative battery cable broken or properly connected to the car? If broken, replace the cable. Good Luck!

My 2005 300 will did not start so I checked the battery and cleaned it up jumped the battery it started up notice the cable is messed up what should I do.

Aftermarket parts houses have replacement battery cables for some cars. For other cars, there are replacement battery cable terminal ends available. You cut the existing terminal off of the battery cable and the replacement terminal will clamp on to the end of the cable with bolts.

NOTE: Nothing on your car works without the battery. I have had many vehicles towed into my shop because of improper cable end replacements. Make sure the connections are clean and tight and free of corrosion.

Replace positive battery cable 97 montero

A lot of cars have two cables on the positive post.
Do you need to replace the cables or is the battery post clamp broken. You can buy a replacement post clamp if you have the type of cables that are bolted to the clamp.
If you need the cable, a oem replacement from your dealer parts counter will match. You can get after market replacements, just look for one that matches your original as close as possible. The parts counter guy should be able to help.
