Electrical problem with my olds aurora lights flicker and clicking sound

If you just clean the switch with contact cleaner, that will fix the problem. I had my 99 aurora's head lights came on and stayed on all the time. I bought contact cleaner 2-26 from Lowes for around 8 bucks and sprayed in the small holes in the switch and blowed with compressed air. Repetead it 2-3 times the problem was gone.

I have the same problem with the headlight switch. Clicking sound when the key is not in the ignition. The headlights flash on & off at all hours, as the car sits parked. This drains down the battery and the car is hard to start. My mechanic says to replace the switch, but GM wants a thousand bucks just for thee part!

You need to replace the light switch. It is shorting in the mechanism itself not the wiring. I had the same issue. Just another GM engineering blunder

Sounds like you have a bad relay, maybe one stuck in the open position. There are several relays underneath the back seat, check your manual for details on their location. Alternatively, the plastic covers have a reference guide indicating which relay is which. Check the relay for the exterior lamps, head lights, etc. The instrument panel lights are tied into your external lights so that when your turn your exterior lights on, the interiors come on as well.
