Sunroof wont open - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix

Power Sunroof System Components
The power sunroof system consists of the following components:
• Sunroof module
• Sunroof switch
• Sunroof motor, with 2 hall effect sensors and limit switch
• Sunroof window
• Sunroof sunshade panel
• Power supply for the sunroof module: RAP 25 A
• Ground G402

Override
The override function is used when needing to force a closing of the sunroof window. To override the system:
Turn ignition to ON.
Rotate the sunroof switch to the close position.
Press upward.
The sunroof switch data 6 circuit, or override circuit, will become grounded at the sunroof module. As long as the sunroof module sees this input, it will continue to slide the sunroof window to close, regardless of the other sunroof switch data circuits inputs.

track froze up or stripped out..

hi carrie i think you will need a new sunroof regulator they can be tricky to fit so would recommend that you get some one that has done it before

Check fuses or motor or regulator "mechanisim motor is attached to that opens sunroof.

Most likely the fuse is burned out. Check the cars manual to find the fuse for the sunroof and check if it looks blackened.------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check the sunroof motor track see if there is an instruction or maby something is off track

I have a 203 Volvo S80 and the sunroof wont open. New fuse for sunroof, no power or movement adjustment. Could this be a burnt out motor?

03 Jeep Liberty sunroof wont close. I have 4 sunroof buttons; Open, Close, Vent and ASC. Open and Vent buttons are working fine. Close button is not responding. ASC button is flashing red and green but does nothing when pushed. I have no way to get it closed

try to push the button and the back off the sunroof at the same time. your motor might just be going bad. i had he same problem in my car
