Penion shaft seal and bearing removal and repair

You need a heavy press to replace the bearing so they can be done at home. Remove the carrier from the banjo housing and have a machine shop replace the pinion bearings and carriers bearings

Throw out bearing

Your throwout bearing is only turning when the clutch is depressed. It just sits there when you are in gear, so I think the noise is from the gearbox itself.

The first thing to do would be to check the fluid level in the trans., and fill it if necessary. If the the noise is in every gear, it may be the input or output shaft main bearings.

Other than that general comment, I don't know your car well enough.

Hi , I bought a 07 golf tdi last year , engine management light came on within month , the garage kept saying it is just a sensor and nothing too worry about , had a full service in dec and it came back on...

First of all you need to find a new garage that isn't just telling you what they don't know. If it were just a filter they would have replaced it and watched you drive away with a smile on your face. There is nothing better than a happy customer. The other thing is that you don't mention if the ****** is a manual or automatic. The ****** could be a bunch of different problems depending on type of ******. Also Volkswagen's are noted for many sensor problems. There are many sensors that can throw a code if they even malfunction for a second. Wish I could help more, but the information is to vague.

How are the bearings of a 2002 jeep cherokee made? like, are they packed or do they run on rear end oil?

I don't know of any bearing in smaller truck that run in rear end grease. If you look at the plug for the oil level you will probably find that they don't really run it high enough to oil the axle bearings properly anyway. I never tore a Jeep down but Chevy Ford both have pressed on sealed bearings. Tear it down if it is running hot you need to do something anyway. That will be a good way to find out. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

When I go at about 40miles(speed ) it's a loud the gears don't stick but the higher the speed the louder it get's need to kind of know what to tell a mechanic is to where to start to look.I doesn't

I would suspect it is a wheel bearing issue, if it sounds similar to a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle, stays somewhat same pitch just louder with speed that is where I would look. Does noise go away or change when making turns?

The front end of my 2001 chevy blazer makes a kind of wa, wa,wa sound going down the road I don't know if it is the bearings or brakes or something else

If it's your bearings the sound will go away when you turn around a corner or curve. If it's your brakes then it should get better or worse when breaking.

I'm pretty sure that it's a wheel bearing in your instance. If you do decided to replace the bearing then don't forget to torque the axel nut down to 103 ft. pounds. This is very important.

Too much or too little torque on your nut will cause early failure of your new bearing.

Need to remove the ring gear assy to replace the pinion shaft bearing

The ring gear is bolted to what is called a ring gear carrier, the carrier is bolted inside the rear end housing with two bolts on each side, it is shimmed on each side to adjust backlash and pinion depth so DON'T mix up the left and right carrier shims, once the carrier is out with the ring gear attached you can remove the pinion shaft and drive out the bearing races of the pinion bearings. You also need to remove the pinion flange where the drive shaft U-Joint attaches, just hammer it off with a brass faced hammer (a steel hammer will run the flange) once the large center nut is removed.

6.5Lchev diesel to a ford ZF 5 speed gear box

You will need the Chev pressure plate to suit the Chev flywheel and a clutch plate to suit the Ford ZF gearbox. Ford ZF throwout bearing and clutch fork should be fine.
