Blower not working on my 1998 Ford Escort
Ok, first off, check the fuses under the dash. If they're all good, does the blower work only on high speed? If yes, then you have a bad blower motor resistor, which is located under the hood, near the blower motor itself. If the motor doesnt work at all at any fan speed, make sure the wiring harness that plugs into the motor under the hood is clean and tightly installed. If it still doesnt operate, sometimes tapping on the blower motor housing will kick it on, but if that doesnt work, you may have to replace the blower motor. They are available aftermarket, and arent usually too expensive.
Check Fuse F20 on central fusebox, if OK Look For Heater blower speed resistor board located under bonnet (not in the passenger footwell as claimed by many). Look for a plastic cover just behind the bulkhead seperating the engine compartment and the wiper mechanism. In my case it was the earth terminal was corroded

If you blower motor squealed and made any noises it is in fact that it is burned up. If not take a multimeter and check if power is gettimg to the motor . You have two fuse boxrs the one on or under your dash a.d anoth main fuse box under the hood . Check all the fuses that have anything that has to do woth the air conditioner and heat . You shold fimd the problem . I would use a digital multimeter and check all the connection to the motor first . Remember you have two fuse boxes so check the one undet the hood . Hope this helps . Been there done that !!!!!!!
