Interior light stays on

one of the door switches is sticking, try spraying PBlaster in all doors top and bottom of the latches, and trunk/decklid.........

its either a bad door switch,or could be the dome override switch by headlight switch,or your interior light switch is all the way up

Hear come a dumb question have you tried turning the knob on the light switch ? What I mean is the if you turn the switch counter clock wise the interior light will come on and will not go off untill you turn the knob back clock wise. Hope this helps.

there is a dimmer switch to dim the dash lights. when you turn it all the way over it turns the interior lights on it is the same switch as your headlights.

one of the door ajar switches are sticking. needs to be put on the computer to find out which one. only other way is to go around and unplug the switches until your light shuts off.

The interior light and ignition can not be related. Just coincidence.

The interior light has a 3 position switch, off, on with door switches, and on all the time. So either a door switch is shorted on, or the switch by the lamp is shorted to the always on position.

The ignition is weird but easily diagnosed. First check that the ignition switch itself turns on and off, by using a test light.
If that is normal, then take out the ignition control unit and have a place like Autozone test it. It has a relay the ignition switch is supposed to turn on and off, and it could stick on, even after switch is off.

one of the door/van loading door switches has failed it thinks a door is open so the the interior light stays on and the door open warning will ding the interior light should have a switch to disable it or take out the bulb but you cant stop the dinging until you find the faulty latch switch and fix it

Is it an old van? Can you see on the door frame a switch does it come out when the door is opened (push in and out a few times). 3 position switch on always / off always and door switch?
