Neon starts spitting and sputtering when im driving

I have a 1995 dodge neon highline and when you go to start it it takes several tries before it finally catches and starts.another thing is when you take off down the road and get to about 50 to 55mph it starts cutting out and sputters and acts like it is losing power we replaced the oxygen censor but it still does it i was wondering if it was the main computer or if anybody knew what kind of censor it could be or what the problem is

first thing you need to do is to have a code check done. That can point you in the right direction. O2 sensor is the least likely cause as they generally react to a problem more times than they cause one.
Aside from electronics, I'd change the fuel filter...likely you don't remember the last time that was done.

Not sure if we have a fuel pump problem or not

Take passenger side rear wheel off and look up at fuel tank & you will see where fuel pump & sender are in tank. Filter should be in that area, just follow lines from sender/pump lines, along frame rail I believe. Best thing to do is on a hot day, which is usually when it will act up the most, and when it starts to spit & sputter, take it & have fuel pressure checked. You can also remove air intake hose from throttle body & spray WD-40 into throttle body with plate open, and if it starts, but wouldn't before the spray, it's probably fuel pump replacement time. I think pump will come out if you just loosen tank straps & lower the tank enough to get it out. Lift & turn .

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,

1995 dodge neon dies after 2 miles

if the car sputters or anything before it dies then u might have a fuel problem. u could try changing ur fuel filter. Or simply give the car a tune up. New spark plugs and wires.
